Our Breakfast Favourite at Home — The Everyday Overnight Oats We Can't Stop Making
If mornings are a little hectic in your home (they sure are in ours), having a nourishing, no-fuss breakfast ready to go can be a game-changer. Lately, our go-to has been this wholesome overnight oats recipe, it’s comforting, satisfying, and packed with goodness to keep us going all day.
Here’s how we make it:
Ingredients:
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup milk of choice (we love almond or oat)
1 tbsp chia seeds
A spoonful of raw honey or pure maple syrup (your call)
A small handful of roasted almonds & sunflower seeds for crunch
1 tbsp freshly ground flaxseed (a fibre and omega-3 boost!)
A handful of fresh blueberries
A generous dollop of plain yoghurt
And here’s the secret touch: grated apple at the base for natural sweetness and texture
How to Make It:
Start by grating a small apple and layering it at the bottom of your jar or bowl.
In a separate bowl, mix oats, milk, chia seeds, honey/maple syrup, and flaxseed. Stir well.
Pour this mixture over the grated apple.
In the morning, top it off with yoghurt, blueberries, and a scatter of roasted nuts and seeds.
Grab a spoon and enjoy!
This breakfast isn’t just easy, it’s deeply satisfying, fruity, and a little sweet. The layers make every bite a little different, and it’s endlessly adaptable depending on the season or what’s in your pantry.
It’s the kind of simple ritual we look forward to at home as a family, and we hope you will too. Here’s to slower mornings, even on the busiest days.
